Description
This is a 4-Day Course of four Full Days.
In this course, you will examine the inner workings of boilers, controls, fittings, valves, and pumps and how they connect and interrelate. This course will teach you how to operate and maintain steam, hot water, warm air, and radiant heating systems. You will also learn the mathematical principles essential to operating these building systems.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the different boiler types, their components and control systems, and their operation and maintenance
- Recognize, set up, and maintain a reliable and effective heating system
- Calculate ratios, proportions, and percentages
- Convert units of measure

Instructor: Josh Hartsell, SMA, SMT
As the Chief Engineer at Crescent Real Estate, LLC since 2015, Josh knows his way around Commerical Real Estate buildings.
He was recognized at BOMA International in 2024 as the Member of the Year for the Southwest Region.
Josh is currently on the Board of Directors of BOMA Greater Dallas and the Board of Trustee of the BOMA Dallas Foundation. He previously served in several BOMA Committee roles.
In addition to being a certified instructor for BOMI, Josh has earned both the Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT) and the Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) designations.
