About

John Fuqua has 32 years of operations, marketing and executive leadership experience in the contract security industry and has been an executive at United Protective Services since 2005. 

He is native to North Texas, resides in Celina and, as the Vice President for United Protective Services, is responsible for executive management, strategic initiatives, branch oversight and sales & marketing efforts to include business development, company growth, consulting and client relations.

John is a believer in strong relationships and outstanding customer service.  Known throughout the commercial real estate industry for his broad knowledge of physical security, he has special expertise in the vertical markets of high-rise commercial office buildings, corporate facilities, luxury residential, retail centers and extreme mixed-use. 

Prior to joining United Protective Services in 2005, John owned a contract security company, oversaw operations for a large multi-regional contract security organization and was a leading Sales Executive for one of the largest contract security companies in the world. 

An active participant in BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association), John is currently the Chair of the Allied Advisory Council for BOMA Greater Dallas (2026-2027).  He previously served on the AAC (2020-2021), was the Chair of the BGD Trade Show Committee (2011), and Vice Chair of that committee in 2010 & 2021.  John was honored as the 2021-2022 BGD Allied Member of the Year and was awarded the BGD President’s Award in 2025.   

John is also involved in ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security), IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management), IFMA (International Facility Managers Association) and NCS4 (National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security).  

John's passions for competition, leadership and managing people have served him well throughout his security career and also as a baseball coach.  He has been extensively involved in the DFW amateur baseball community since the early 1990s and has had several hundred of his former ballplayers advance on from HS to play collegiate and professional baseball, including thirty-seven that ultimately achieved their dream of playing in the big leagues.
